We all forget our passwords sometimes. When it comes to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube we can't reset these for you but we understand the importance of regaining access to these accounts. We've provided some helpful how-to's for password recovery on each service.
First, you'll need to be at www.facebook.com.
You will see a page that has the above imagery at the top. Left-click the "Forgot account?" link.
Depending on what security settings you've setup or adjusted on your Facebook account, this process can vary. We will walk through one approach below:
You will be prompted to enter the email or phone number (usually a mobile number) associated with the account. Click "search". From there you will be told a code has been sent to either the number (via text message) or email associated with the account. This 6-digit code should be entered in order to access a page that lets you enter a new password.
First, you'll need to be at www.linkedin.com.
As above, you'll see a "Forgot password?" link that you should click. From here you will be directed to a page prompting you to enter the email or phone number (usually mobile) associated with your account. Click "Submit". Enter your information. The next page will show display a message saying password reset instructions have been sent to the email associated with that account/information.
First, you'll need to be at www.twitter.com.
In the upper right-hand corner of the Twitter homepage, you should see a login prompt and "Forgot password?" - click that.
Twitter will ask you to enter the phone number, username (sans "@"), or email associated with the Twitter account. If an account exists with that information Twitter will ask you how you want to reset the password. Select the method you'd like and click "Continue".
YouTube
First, you'll need to be at www.youtube.com.
In the upper right-hand corner of YouTube, if you are logged out, you will see "SIGN IN". Left-click this link. You will be brought to a login screen. Enter the email used for your Youtube account and click "Next".
You should now be at the "Enter Password" screen. Click "Forgot password?" to proceed with recovering and resetting your password. You can enter any password you remember using for your account to proceed. You will be told when your password was last updated and ways to reset it.
If you don't remember any passwords, click "Try Another Way". Google will present another method for verifying your information. You can, once again click "Try Another Way" to find other ways to reset your password.
